Challenge
We were approached to brand a coffee shop. The client had a very pleasant experience in Spain and wanted to specialize in serving Cortado coffee, which is a Spanish kind of latte. With so many coffee shops around, how could we create a unique concept?
Solution
An elegant brand was created, together with a handcrafted typeface, using the Cortado concept as inspiration. The word means “cut” in Spanish because the milk is used to cut he acidity of the coffee. The brand language together with the logo match the whole marble finishing that composes all of Doha’s Palm Tower ground floor walls, where the shop is located. The concept is represented with elegant and discrete cuts in every letter, making the whole typeface distinctive and original.
