Challenge
Qatar Museums approached us to design the branding and promotional campaign for their JR photography exhibition. JR is an artist that uses the street as his canvas and his inspiration. His work is part of the urban fabric which he uses to highlight the dignity and give an identity to the anonymous public. In this way, JR creates ‘pervasive art’ that spreads uninvited on the buildings of the slums around Paris, on the walls in the Middle-East, on the broken bridges in Africa or the favelas in Brazil.
Solution
JR has a distinct style and our campaign reflects that. We worked on clean executions and design, black and white graphics and strong typography of ‘JR’, the branding uses subtle hints of close-up pixels that are a representation of his extra-large scale prints. The main focus of the campaign was on his imagery, the sharp shots attracted the desired audience, this perspective focuses on the power of the image and its story.
